Presented here is a beautiful 1974 Javelin AMX with all the GO FAST goodies including a freshly built 401 CID motor, 727 automatic and 3:54 posi rear end. This was an original 360 4BBL car with a blocked off "fake" cowl induction hood and front front valance panel, typical of most 74 AMX's car was always garaged kept and adult owned. This 1974 AMX Javelin is another from my collection that I am continuing to thin out. Fitted with a built 304 V8 bored 30 over to 348 cubic inches (5. 3 Liter). This car is in beautiful. mechanical and cosmetic condition having undergone a motor rebuild and restoration in 2009. Original features on this car include the unique Pierre Cardin full interior completely intact with no rips. tears. or stains. Designer motif extends to door panels and ceiling as seen in attached pictures. Mechanical upgrades to the car include the afore mentioned motor which was bored 30 over with new forged pistons. hardened crank. cam. new timing chain. oil pump. rods. rockers. and push rods. Transmission was rebuilt at the same time with a 2800 Stall converter. rear end. 410 gears. sure grip and axle are all new. Positraction and reringed. relashed ring and pinion. This AMX was also repainted at the time of the restoration. Car was stripped. new quarters. doors. and roof welded. No mud anywhere. Paint is PPG base coat. clear coat. New radiator. new brakes. exhaust. belts. hoses. lights. marker lights. steering gearbox. ball joints. pinion seals. battery. gaskets. stereo. amp. speakers.

    Alongside the new Camaro, Firebird and the downsized Mustang II, all of which saw increased sales, the 1974 AMX didn't fare well. Javelin production however reached a second-generation high of 27,696 units, with 4,980 of these being Javelin-AMX models produced for the final model year.
