Sense8, the popular LGBT inclusive Netflix series that follows the lives of eight emotionally and mentally interconnected individuals across the globe, has seen some team shake-ups since the premiere of its first season, with departures from both star Aml Ameen and director Lilly Wachowski.
Aml Ameen is just one of the many gifted young actors to portray a character for the movie adaptation of the hit dystopian series The Maze Runner by James Dashner. We spoke with Ameen to ask him what he thought of the book, the best moments from set, and what’s coming up for him next.

Speaking about the role, Aml Ameen said: ’They really wanted me for the part, so much so they rewrote the script to accommodate the fact that I don’t resemble Forest Whitaker, who I am playing a younger version of. Instead, they shortened the time period over which I play the younger version of him, from 15-35 years-old to 15 to 18 years-old, so it is not so obvious.’
Growing up as a child Aml Ameen loved to perform. He began his career at the age of 7 when he attended the Barbara Speake Stage School in West London where he showed a passion and, more importantly, a talent for dancing singing and acting.
