Because a handful of members rather than the entire fraternity was allegedly forced to carry the binders, the act was considered hazing. If one of the pledges was found without a binder by one of the active brothers, which according to Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Brooke Kingsley Isbell was against policy, he would be scolded.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Wilfred Ernest Kingsley, whom she married June 5, 1950; four children, Victoria (Francis) Riggle of Cortland, M. Joan Kingsley of Youngstown, Thomas (Susan) Kingsley of Boardman and R. Scott Kingsley of Austintown; one sister, Nettie Varner of Columbus; 14 grandchildren, Robert Kingsley, Jennifer (Eric) Tomocik, Dr. Megan Testa (Todd) Nelson, Heather (John) Hershberger, Paul Safarek, Kathryn (Jeremy) Brown, Kristina (Brian) Devellin, Thomas (Jenna) Watson, Justin Real, Kelly Kingsley (fiancé Kevin Flesher Sr.), Brooke Kingsley, Kerry Kingsley, Logan Watson, and Nicole Kingsley, and 17 great-grandchildren, Tori, Georgia, Bailee, Hunter, Sadie, Alexis, Jack, Brian, Mila, Breea, Ian, Trey, Abionna, Ariya, Max, Kevin Jr., and Brooklyn.
“We wondered if the recipient was at the same hospital. But then I heard them say the helicopter was ready,” Brooke Kingsley said. “But we thought it was going to someone in the Southeast.”
