Growing up amidst the colorful fields of peonies, irises and daylilies that constituted his family’s three- generation flower business, Jim Wild is responsible for creating the Flying W after first falling head over heels for a boldly colored stallion back in 1956. Combining his enthusiasm for color with a keen eye for conformation and his self-taught knowledge of pedigrees, Jim Wild is the cornerstone to the Flying W’s success in producing numerous National and World Champions.
A strong advocate of the Appaloosa breed, Wild’s work, both on and off the Flying W, focuses on the integrity of good horses and good people. Whether promoting a national champion or attributes of the breed, Jim Wild and the Flying W have proven that loving what you do, smart choices and a lot of sweat equity can transform into an industry-leading program.
"Active learning is a pedagogy developed by Jim Wild for improving the skills of frontline practitioners to enable them to work effectively . . . his ability to encourage even social workers with many years practice behind them to reflect on their responses is an invaluable skill."
Jim Wild is the founder of this ethical service and his publication 'TRANSFORMING CHILD PROTECTION PRACTICE - Active Learning and the Development of Skills' will be released in mid -2015. Much of his more recent independent work has been evaluated by leading international academics and is available on request.
