Katie Lamar Jackson is freelance writer, editor and photographer with more than 30 years of experience covering issues ranging from agriculture, natural resources, rural communities, the environment and science to art, music, history, travel and cuisine. She is the author or co-author of three national gardening books, an award-winning biography of a Georgia psychic and countless newspaper and magazine articles. She also writes the monthly gardening column for Alabama Living magazine.
Katie Jackson is the Director of Sustainability and Community Outreach for Jackson Family Wines. In that role, she interfaces with and co-manages the Government Relations and Regulatory Affairs Department.
Katie Jackson was raised on a ranch in Montana but grew tired of seeing more cows than people so she moved to New York City to experience diversity and be close to major airports with many flights. She’s lived in Italy, France, Ireland, and Nicaragua but never long enough to completely nail the local language. She has never owned a car and prefers to hike or bike when she needs to go somewhere. Active to a fault, she is hard to pin down unless you set something chocolate in front of her.
