Welcome to the Sport About Equipment Website

You have seen action films with sequences performed on top of speeding trains, and you believe it is something that you can do as well. Here is the truth: many are already doing it. This kind of sport is called train surfing. Even if it is not truly recognized as an official sport, it is already viewed as one since people compete for prestige or recognition. There are already some well-known train riders all around the globe.

Why It Is Extreme: Train surfing for some is done out of necessity. They do not have any money to pay for the ticket, or the number of passengers inside the cabin is already large.

You can find these surfers in some of the most populous countries like India. However, a number take up the sport for adrenaline fix. They jump off roofs of moving or speeding trains and sometimes perform tricks while on top of them. It is dangerous because trains can travel at a faster speed. Usually, drivers are unaware of the presence of surfers.

They can also get stuck on live power lines and be killed instantly. Of course, they can fall off without warning and worse be crashed by trains.

Number of Deaths: There is no official count, but you can already read some reports of deaths. These include 2 Russian students in 2011, 18-year-old James Wilkinson due to power lines in Caulfield Station, and Msizi Nzama of Durban, South Africa.

Fencing, or at least sword fighting, can be traced back to numerous ancient works which suggest the origins of the sport to be well over 4,000 years old.
